Seward County and Garden City face off for the third time this season, after the Saints have posted a 2-0 record against the Broncbusters this season. In non-conference action at the Green House on Nov. 3, Seward County defeated GCCC, 77-63. The last match-up saw the Saints escape with a 69-68 victory on a game-winning 3-pointer by Nick Burns with 30 seconds left to play at the Perryman Center. SCCC has been one of the hottest teams in the Region VI winning nine of its last 10 games overall. The Saintsí only loss in their last 10 games came in double overtime on the road at Barton County C.C. The Saints have won 22 games this season, the most in the Jayhawk West, marking the programís most wins since 2004-2005 (24).

The Saints have won six of the last eight meetings against the Busters at the Green House, and own a 10-7 overall lead in the series since 2000-2001. Garden City holds a 5-3 lead at the Perryman Center in Garden City while the Saints are 1-0 against GCCC in Region VI Tournament action on a neutral court.

The Broncbusters enter Saturday night on a three-game losing streak, that includes losses on the road at Pratt C.C. (54-55) and Cloud County C.C. (50-61), and at home against Barton County C.C. (73-81). The Busters have been the most up-and-down team in the Jayhawk West recording two three-game winning streaks, and a two game losing streak mixed in with their current three-game losing skid. Talent has never been the question with the Broncbusters who feature several potent offensive players, including Corey Claitt (17.7 ppg.), Jordan Ragan (10.8 ppg.) and Tyrone Flemming (10.6 ppg.). If the game comes down to free throws Garden City might be in trouble, as they shoot a dismal 53 percent from the charity stripe this season.
