Seward County will play its final two non-conference games in San Diego, Calif., at the San Diego Classic, Dec. 28-29. The Lady Saints will take on University of Wisconsin-Waukesha at 6 p.m. on Dec. 28, and will then face the winner/loser of Cuyamaca/San Diego City College the following day. Seward County enters the Jayhawk West Conference season having won six of the last eight conference titles (2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007).

SCCC is the defending conference champion after posting a 15-1 mark last season. Dodge City will try and improve on last seasonís 5-11 conference record and sixth place finish in the Jayhawk West.

A new era has begun at Dodge City with the hiring of Steve High, who spent the previous 17 years as the head coach at Pittsburg State University. High inherited only one player from last seasonís Dodge City team (Keri Rausch) and has a roster this season that lists 10 freshmen and one sophomore. Dodge City struggled during the non-conference tallying a 4-9 overall mark. This will be their third contest on the floor at the Green House this season after posting an 0-2 mark in the Pizza Hut Classic, Dec. 7-8. In addition, Dodge City finished their non-conference schedule on a five-game losing streak, which includes their final game when they scored a season-low 38 points against then-No. 22 Northeastern Colorado J.C. (38-67).
