The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) held its annual pre-season basketball press conference this morning in Wichita. The Jayhawk West women’s basketball coaches picked the Seward County Community College Lady Saints as the No. 1 team in the pre-season poll. Seward County is coming off a 36-2 season, where they won the Jayhawk West Conference, NJCAA Region VI Tournament and finished 3rd at the NJCAA National Tournament. The Lady Saints won the Jayhawk West with a 15-1 conference record last season. Head coach Toby Wynn has recorded a 61-9 overall record in his first two seasons as head coach.

Wynn and the Lady Saints return four sophomores from last seasons conference championship team, including two starters – forward, Jennifer Noel (9.2 ppg., 6.6 rpg.) and First Team NJCAA & WBCA All-American Tegan Cunningham (18.1 ppg., 10.1 rpg.). Sophomores Audra Binford (led team with 68 three-point field goals) and Holly Krause (.559 FG%, 2.8 rpg.) also return for their sophomore seasons.
