The SCCC Lady Saints won their first five-game match of the season on Saturday morning in a victory over Casper College at the Northeastern Colorado Tournament in Sterling, Colo. Seward County defeated Casper 29-31, 30-21, 27-30, 30-21, 15-5 to improve their record to 2-1 in tournament play. Seward County started the Northeastern Colorado Tournament on Friday against No. 1 Western Nebraska Community College (20-1) and McCook Community College (5-9). The Lady Saints led early against Western Nebraska (7-1 in game-one) but weren’t able to pull off the upset as the Lady Cougars defeated SCCC 30-25, 30-21, 30-20. Seward County won their second match Friday night defeating McCook C.C. 30-18, 30-22, 30-17.

Seward County will finish weekend competition on Saturday with their final match against the host school No. 10 Northeastern Colorado Junior College at 10:30 a.m.
