Seward County Community College head women’s basketball coach Toby Wynn has been selected to speak at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Women’s Basketball Coaching Clinic on Sunday, Sept. 23 at the Swinney Recreation Center. Wynn will be speaking on the topic of motion offense and quick hitters to high school and college coaches in attendance for the 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. clinic. The featured speaker at the clinic will be Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame inductee (2003), Marsha Sharp, who is the former women’s basketball head coach at Texas Tech University.

Other coaches who will be presenting are SCCC alum and UMKC head women’s basketball coach Candace White-Whitaker, Brett Schneider (associate head coach UMKC) and Steve Cassity (head girl’s basketball coach Hickman H.S.).

In 2006-2007, Wynn was named the Jayhawk West Conference Coach of the Year, the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association JUCO Women’s Coach of the Year, NJCAA District F Coach of the Year and he was a finalist for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Region V Coach of the Year Award.

Wynn led the Lady Saints to a third-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament with a 36-2 overall record. Wynn has coached 10 Jayhawk West All-Conference players, six NJCAA All-Region VI selections and four NJCAA or WBCA All-Americans during his coaching tenure at SCCC.
