The National Junior College Athletic Association has released the 2007 NJCAA D-I Pre-Season Volleyball poll. Seward County Community College received a No. 19 ranking in the first poll of the season. The Lady Saints have now received a NJCAA national ranking for 13 straight years, dating back to the programís first ranking in 1995. Seward County is coming off a 23-25 overall season in 2006. SCCC finished last season strong winning eight of their last 10 matches ending the season as the NJCAA D-I Region VI Tournament runner-up. Seward County was one-of-two Region VI teams ranked in the pre-season poll as Hutchinson Community College was tabbed No. 14.

The Lady Saints opened their season this year with a 2-2 record at the SCCC Kick-Off Classic with victories against Cisco J.C. and New Mexico Military Institute. On the second-day of competition, the Lady Saints dropped a three-game match to Frank Phillips College and a four-game match to Garden City C.C.. The Lady Plainsmen have checked in a No. 3 in the NJCAA Pre-Season poll.

Seward County will be once again be tested against top-notch competition with 14 matches scheduled against teams that received a ranking in the pre-season poll.

The top-five in this yearís poll are no strangers to the NJCAA National Tournament as defending NJCAA National Champion Iowa Western C.C. received the No. 1 position with Missouri State University-West Plains, Frank Phillips, Salt Lake C.C. and Western Nebraska following to complete the Top 5.
