Seward County Community College has developed a second community recreation trip this summer called the Wheeler Peak Summit Expedition that includes backpacking in the Sangre De Cristo Range of the Rockies .

This trip takes place Aug . 4-7 at the Base Camp at Middle Fork Lake and will give participants the opportunity to climb the highest peak in New Mexico—Wheeler Peak, 13,161 feet .

The cost is $90 per person and includes gear, camping equipment, food and transportation and is limited to the first 18 people, 18 years or older .

This event is sponsored by Seward County Community College and Liberal Parks and Recreation and has a registration deadline of 12 noon, July 22 .
