The Seward County Community College baseball team has started their Phoenix spring break trip with a 2-2 overall record. The Saints split against Glendale Community College on Saturday, winning game-one 4-3 and losing game-two 15-4. Seward County was in action again on Sunday splitting two non-conference games against Seminole State College and Fort Scott Community College. The Saints left runners on base against Seminole State and couldn’t get the big hit losing 3-1, and then picked up a win in their final game of the day against Fort Scott, 11-8. No. 17 Seward County is now 13-11 overall this season and remain 3-3 in the Jayhawk West Conference. The Saints will continue play in Phoenix on Monday against Chandler Gilbert Community College at 2 p.m.

In addition, the Saints 4-3 victory against the Glendale Gauchos was head coach Galen McSpadden’s 850th career coaching win at SCCC. The Saints 26th year head coach currently ranks 27th all-time in NJCAA history for career wins and is 12th on the NJCAA active head coaching list.
