The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, in cooperation with Eastman Kodak Company, announced on Thursday the finalists for the 2007 Kodak/WBCA All-America Junior College/Community College Basketball Team. Seward County Community College freshmen Tegan Cunningham and Chontaye Walter are among the 32 finalists who are voted upon by WBCA members and coaches in each of the nine WBCA geographical regions. Cunningham and Walter are in the running to be selected to the 10 member Kodak/WBCA All-American Team.

The Kodak/WBCA All-America team will be announced at the NJCAA Championship Banquet on Monday, March 19, at 6 p.m. in the Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kan.

Cunningham, a 6-foot-1-inch forward from Doncaster, Australia, was named Jayhawk West Conference Most Valuable Player, Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Conference earlier this week. She has led the Lady Saints this season with 15 double-doubles and is averaging a team-best 17.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

Walter, a 5-foot-8-inch point guard from Oklahoma City, Okla., was tabbed a Second Team Jayhawk West All-Conference selection after averaging 14.3 points, 5.5 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game during 28 contests this season.

Cunningham, Walter and the No. 2 ranked Lady Saints (30-1) will be in action at the NJCAA D-I Region VI Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday, Mar. 10 at 1 p.m. against Labette Community College (17-13).
