RECORDS: Barton County comes into tonight’s game with a 3-0 in the Jayhawk West, 15-2 overall mark while No. 5 Seward County is 16-0 and 2-0.

THE COACHES: Lane Lord coaches Barton County, and in his third season he is 65-20 overall. Toby Wynn continues his second season as head coach at Seward County (41-7).
ABOUT THE LADY COUGARS: Barton County enters Saturday night after picking up their biggest win of the season on their home-court Wednesday night over No. 1 nationally-ranked Cloud County, 96-93. Barton shot 63 percent from three-point range (5-for-8) in the second-half and used big offensive production from DePrice Taylor (27 points) and Andrea Barber (26 points) to defeat the previously unbeaten Lady T-Birds (13-1). Barber leads the Region VI in assists per game (5.5 apg.) and is the leading scorer for the Lady Cougars this season (14.6 ppg.). Barton has dropped five of their last six to Seward, but won the last meeting in Great Bend, 76-50. Barton County will have battle for Jayhawk West supremacy during the regular season, due to being placed on NJCAA probation and not being eligible for KJCCC West Title or Region VI competition.
ABOUT THE LADY SAINTS: The Lady Saints moved up two spots to No. 5 in the nation in the latest NJCAA Top 25 poll that was released on Wednesday. Last Saturday, Seward County defeated Hutchinson 54-37, limiting Hutch to 32 percent shooting from the field and causing 25 Lady Blue Dragon turnovers. Sophomore Taushelle Rushing continues to lead the nation in steals per game (5.9 spg.), and is one of seven Lady Saints who average double-figures in scoring. Seward leads the Region VI in six statistical team categories (scoring margin, assists, steals, turnover margin and assists/turnover ratio). Lady Saints second year head coach Toby Wynn (.854%) owns the highest winning percentage of any current head coach in the Jayhawk West. Wynn will be facing off against Lady Cougars head coach Lane Lord (.765%), who owns the second-highest winning percentage for an active head coach in the Jayhawk West.
