The Seward County Community College athletic department has announced the Saints Bookstore Basketball Benefit Night raised a total of $363 that has been donated to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Seward, Haskell and Stevens Counties organization. The BBBS is a non-profit organization that helps match caring mentors with children who need the friendship of a special adult in their lives. Most of the children in the program come from single-parent families.

The Seward County menís and womenís basketball teams hosted a basketball preview last Saturday night where both teams competed in a five-on-five three-point contest, coaches free-throw contest and each team participated in a 12 minute scrimmage.

The Benefit Night also had contests for children, SCCC students and adults. In addition, the SCCC Cheerleaders performed their first routine of the 2006-2007 school year.

The SCCC athletic department would like to thank all of the people that were in attendance and also those who helped raise funds for this very special organization.
