Officials from Hill College have announced the All-Tournament volleyball team from last weekends Hill College Labor Day Tournament, in Hillsboro, Texas. Seward County Community College outside hitter, Janete Ferreira, was one-of-six players chosen to the All-Tournament team. Seward County finished with a 2-2 tournament record, placing them in a three way tie for second place. Midland College won the tournament with a 4-0 record. Panola College, Hill College and Seward all finished 2-2. Brookhaven College went winless last weekend with a 0-4 record.

Ferreira, a 60 sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, currently ranks No. 6 in the nation in kills per game (4.08), collecting a total of 102 kills in 25 games played this season. In addition, Ferreira was named an NJCAA Pre-Season Third Team All-American.

The Lady Saints will be in action this weekend at the Salt Lake City C.C. Tournament, in Henderson, Nevada. Seward County will play four matches on Friday against Central Wyoming (9:45 a.m.), Mt Hood C.C. (12:15 p.m.), Salt Lake City C.C. (1:30 p.m.) and Arizona Western (4:00 p.m.). Saturday, the Lady Saints will compete in single elimination bracket competition.
