Students at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School can consider a career in Manufacturing. Students can take courses in Machine Tool Technology, Drafting and Design Technology or Welding Technology or combine classes from each of these three areas. One of the machines that students can train on is the state-of-the art waterjet machine, above, that is capable of cutting a wide variety of materials using a high-pressure jet of water. In addition to metals, the machine can cut such materials as rubber, foam, plastics, leather, stone and tile. Students perform jobs that are needed by business and industry in the area.
