The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national office has announced the 2005-2006 Academic All-Americans. Seward County Community College had seven student-athletes named to the prestigious list. The two levels of All-American stature are Distinguished (3.80-4.00 grade point average) and Academic (3.60-3.79 g.p.a.) All-American.

Student athletes from SCCC earning Distinguished Academic All-American were Kalie Radcliff (womenís basketball), Brian Majors (baseball), Kelsey Trout (softball), Thu Ha Mai (womenís tennis), and Lynsey Deaton (softball). Alejandro Gomez-Martinez (menís tennis) was named an Academic All-American.

Since 2000, Seward County C.C. has had 88 student-athletes earn Academic All-American honors, with the most in one year coming in 1999-2000, when 24 SCCC student-athletes were selected with academic honors.

In addition, in 2005-2006 the Region VI (19 colleges) accounted for 126 student-athletes who were named Academic All-American.
