It hasnít taken Seward County freshman Thayna Silva long to burst onto the KJCCC scene, as for the third time this season Silva was named the KJCCC Player of the Week on Tuesday, as voted on by league personnel.

In a busy week for Seward County, Silva helped the Lady Saints to three wins, including one against Jayhawk West frontrunner Hutchinson. Monday against Frank Phillips, in an otherwise forgettable evening for Seward, Silva finished with her third straight double-double with a 14 kill, 13 dig performance. On Wednesday in a heavyweight battle against the Lady Dragons of Hutchinson, Silva helped Seward hand Hutch their first conference loss of the year with 13 kills and a match high 26 digs in the upset over their rivals. At the Grizzly Invitational at West Plains, Missouri she turned in a pair of good performances with an 11 kill, 6 dig match against 23-3 Wallace State and had 18 kills and 11 digs in a Seward win over Jefferson College. On the week she averaged 2.87 kills and 3.70 digs per set.
