The Seward County Community College athletic department and Athletic Director, Galen McSpadden have announced Scarlette Frydendall as the Head Cheerleading Coach at SCCC. Frydendall, originally from Liberal has spent the last three years as a local cheerleading coach/choreographer at Liberal High School and South Middle School. Frydendall has 14 years of cheerleading experience including three years as the captain of the Saints Cheerleading squad (1998-2001).

In 2003-2004, Frydendall began her cheerleading coaching career at Liberal High School coaching the Junior Varsity (9th grade) squad. In 2004-2006, Frydendall coached the South Middle School Cheerleaders (7th & 8th grade). While coaching at South Middle School, Frydendall and her squad won numerous awards including the University of Oklahoma Team Camp Top Team Trophy, and a National Cheerleading Association (NCA) National Championship bid in 2005. Additionally, SMS made an appearance at the 2006 NCA Hula Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Frydendall began teaching dance and cheerleading lessons at her motherís studio at the age of 13. She then began customizing cheerleading routines and camps for schools in the surrounding tri-state area. Overall, Frydendall has judged over 20 cheerleading try-outs and has also served as a judge for the Oklahoma Regional Cheerleading Championships.

As a student at SCCC, Frydendall was a member and president of the Sound Express Show Choir, member and president of Delta Epsilon Chi (a competitive business management and marketing program), member of Phi Theta Kappa and was the recipient of the W.A. Shufelberger Award, given to the female graduating student/athlete with the highest grade point average.

Frydendall earned an Associates of Science Degree in Business Administration from Seward County Community College in 2001, and received her Bachelorís of Business Management Degree in 2003 from Friends University.

In 2003-2005, Frydendall was an instructor at SCCC teaching SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise), and currently she works as the Wal-Mart Branch Manager/Lender for First National Bank Liberal/Hugoton.

Frydendall takes over as Head Cheerleading Coach from Jeri Ann Davidson, who spent the last four years as the Saints Cheerleading head coach. In 2005-2006, Davidson coached two sophomores and seven freshmen members of the cheerleading squad.
