The Seward County Community College softball team entered the District C Playoff Series winning 11 straight games including their second Region VI Tournament Championship in two years. That streak was snapped and the Lady Saints season has ended with a pair of losses to No. 10 Otero Junior College, who defeated Seward County, 5-4 and 6-1 at Lady Saints Softball Field on Thursday afternoon. Otero’s two wins over Seward County earned them a berth in the 16 team NJCAA Division I Fast Pitch Softball National Championship Tournament that is scheduled May 18-20, in Plant City, Florida. It is the second straight season that Otero has defeated Seward County to advance to the National Tournament.

Seward County finishes the season 37-22, with back-to-back seasons of winning the NJCAA Region VI Tournament and finishing as runner up in the District C Playoff.
