Seward County Lady Saints Ashlynn Knoll and Anete Kirsteine were honored by the Jayhawk Conference on Thursday as Knoll was named a 1st Team All-Conference selection for the second straight season and Kirsteine was picked to the 2nd Team in her rookie year with Seward.

Knoll, the focal point of every opposing defense averaged 11.6 points and a team leading 5.9 rebounds per game during conference play this season for Seward. She was a 1st Team All-Conference choice by the league’s coaches and finished 4th in the conference’s Most Valuable Player voting. Kirsteine dazzled in her first run through the Jayhawk West, averaging a team leading 11.9 points per game and also chipping in with 4.5 rebounds per game in 16 Seward conference games. She hit 37 three pointers in conference action at a 45% clip which both led the West. Hutchinson coach Jon Ontjes was named the Coach of the Year after leading his Lady Dragons to an undefeated regular season while Hutch’s Laura Patrick was named the Player of the Year.
