The sterling silver reputation of the Seward County Lady Saints Tennis team has shined through again this preseason as with only 2 returning players with measurable experience from last year, the Lady Saints still found a way to get into the ITA top 20 as they come in at #17 in the preseason poll. Also, 5 different Lady Saints found their name on the top 80 individual players list in the release.

Perennial power Tyler leads the way in the top 25 poll with Seward ranked a respectable 17th after a top 12 finish at the NJCAA Tournament a year ago. The Cowley Lady Tigers are the top ranked Region VI team in the poll as they come in at #5 and Johnson County checks in slightly ahead of Seward at #16.
In the individual rankings the Lady Saints #1 player Dariya Dashutina narrowly missed the top 10 as she was ranked the #11 player in the country. Freshman Sandri Munoz was next up for Seward at #55 and Salitza Abrantes, Katiuska Adarmes, and Susan Nguyen followed her at #72, #76, and #80 in the poll.
On the doubles side, Dashutina and Munoz are ranked #16 and are expected to be the biggest threat to Cowley’s 2nd ranked Davita/Biro duo while Abrantes and Adarmes find themselves in the top 30 as well at #28 to start the 2012 season.
