For the first time this season, the Seward County Womenís and Menís Basketball teams are getting some love from the NJCAA pollsters.

The Lady Saints check in at #14 this week after a 5-0 start that has seen them capture wins over DII #6 Monroe and Tallahassee in the past week. Seward is currently leading the entire Jayhawk Conference in scoring at 84.8 points per game and has knocked off their five opponents by nearly 30 points per contest thus far. Fellow Jayhawk West member Hutchinson rose to #3 this week and the Jayhawk Eastís Independence Lady Pirates are #10.
After being picked to win the Jayhawk West and getting off to a 4-0 start in which they have outscored their opponents 399-235, the Seward Menís team got into the top 20 picture as they received votes this week but were not able to squeak into the actual top 20. The team that knocked off the Saints in last seasonís Region Championship game, the Coffeyville Red Ravens moved up to #2 in the poll while the only Jayhawk West team to make it in was Hutchinson at #15.
