As athletes, routine is generally thought of as a good thing. However, Sunday afternoon at Tucker Lake in Liberal, Seward County athletes broke out of their routine a little bit to spend some time with the kids of Big Brothers/Big Sisters in their annual fishing day.

The Saints and the little’s fished and enjoyed the spoils of the cookout at the lake for a few hours, sharing stories and meeting new friends. The big winner of the day as far as fish went though was Saints pitcher Garret Smith who to his surprise hooked a huge, 36 inch, 20+ pound carp and brought it to the surface on the dock just in time for everyone to gather around and see it snap the line and return to the depths to be caught another time.
