For the second straight week, Seward County sophomore outside hitter Courtney Geesing has been named the Jayhawk West Conference’s Player of the Week. Geesings numbers were again phenomenal for Seward as she averaged 3.68 kills and 2.84 digs per game in five Lady Saints matches.

Wednesday against Hutchinson, Geesing willed the Lady Saints back from down 2-0 to the Lady Dragons, recording a career high 18 kills and 13 digs in a five game win for Seward. At the Wyo-Braska Shootout the sophomore was equally as impressive. Friday in a win over Laramie County she had 7 kills without an error to go along with 11 digs, 3 blocks, and 3 aces in a Seward sweep. Later that day she put up 14 kills and 13 digs in a Lady Saints loss to Casper. Saturday against #2 Western Wyoming Geesing recorded 13 of Seward’s 22 kills in the match and also had 4 blocks. In the tournament finale she matched her numbers from earlier in the week against Hutchinson with 18 kills and 13 digs as she led the Lady Saints past Sheridan.
