Each year the Kansas Society for Clinical Laboratory Science awards a minimum of four $500 scholarships to current medical laboratory technician (MLT) and medical laboratory science (MLS) students. At the recent annual continuing education meeting, Noemi Navaratte, a Medical Laboratory Technician student at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School, was awarded one of the scholarships.
Navarrate of Deerfield is a current second-year MLT student and is completing her advanced clinical practicum rotation. Upon completion of the MLT program requirements in August, she will seek employment in southwest Kansas.
“Noemi is an excellent student,” said Suzanne Campbell, MLT program coordinator. “All of her clinical instructors give her high praise regarding technical knowledge and skills, level of motivation, and a willingness to learn. They repeated state she will be an excellent MLT.”
