Depending on fire conditions in Seward County Monday, July 4, there may or may not be fireworks following the Bee Jays baseball game.
The Seward County and Liberal Fire Departments will make a decision near the end of June, whether or not there will be fireworks this year following the Liberal Bee Jays game Monday, July 4 at Brent Gould Field on the campus of Seward County Community College/ Area Technical School.
If the fire departments allow the Bee Jays to continue with the fireworks display July 4, there will be fireworks providing the wind conditions are favorable that evening. No other fireworks and no alcohol will be allowed during or after the Bee Jays game. In addition, the public must also adhere to proper parking procedures on the college property. For those individuals who attend, the college would appreciate that they pick up and dispose of their own trash.
Backup dates for the fireworks display will be Saturday, July 16 or Tuesday, July 19.
