Friday afternoon in the All-American Room, Seward County Lady Saints sophomore Morgan Skomal signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her playing and academic career at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa.

Skomal played in 58 games in her two seasons with Seward County and was the lone returning sophomore this season, off of the Lady Saints 2009-2010 Jayhawk West Conference Champions that went 31-3. During her freshman season Skomal averaged 5.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game and stepped it up a notch during her sophomore campaign where she put up 6.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest. She will join a Peacock squad in a rebuilding phase but has a bright future with Head Coach Carol Russell, who led Nebraska-Kearney to 5 NCAA Division II Tournaments, at the helm. Upper Iowa competes at the Division II level and in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
