Kansas Jayhawk Community College (KJCCC) officials have announced the 2005-2006 Jayhawk West All-Conference teams. The Seward County Community College women’s basketball team had four players earn All-Conference honors including freshman, Ilda Chambe (Second Team) and sophomores, Brio Rode (Second Team), Amanda McCue (Honorable Mention) and Sierra Radke (Honorable Mention). The Lady Saints basketball team had more players earn All-Conference recognition than any other program in the 19 school Region VI.

The Jayhawk West Coach of the Year award was given to Colby Head Coach, Tom Stephens, who led the Lady Trojans to the Jayhawk West Conference Championship, and just yesterday guided Colby to their first ever Region VI Tournament title.

Colby’s Rita Kollo, was named Jayhawk West Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive season. Kollo is averaging 20.9 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game this season. Kollo is headed to Oklahoma State University for next season.

Ilda Chambe is one of only four freshmen to earn Jayhawk West Conference accolades this season. Chambe was a dominant presence for Seward County this season in the paint posting 11 double-double performances, including her 14 points and career-high 17 rebounds in the Region VI Tournament against Labette. Chambe’s 294 rebounds this season ranks her seventh all-time in Lady Saints basketball history for rebounds in a single season. Chambe finished the season averaging 10.5 ppg. and 9.2 rpg.

Brio Rode made an immediate impact in her one season playing for the Seward County Lady Saints. Rode made 80 three-point field goals this season ranking her fourth all-time in single season three’s, and her 80 trey’s also places her seventh all-time in career three-point field goals. Rode was named NJCAA Player of the Week on Feb. 8, after she scored a career-high 32 points against Barton County. Rode averaged 12.8 points, 3.1 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game this season. In addition, Rode made three or more three-point baskets in 16 games this season.

Amanda McCue closes out her phenomenal SCCC career after starting in 53 games for the Lady Saints in two-seasons. McCue was named NJCAA Player of the Week on Jan. 11, after scoring nine points in the final seven minutes of the game to help SCCC defeat Butler. McCue averaged 9.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.0 assists per game this season.

Sierra Radke also finishes her career as one of the all-time best three-point shooters in Lady Saints history. Radke made 104 three-point baskets in her two-seasons at Seward County which places her in fifth place all-time for career three’s. Radke made 59 three-point baskets this season while averaging 12.2 points and 4.3 assists per game. In addition, Radke ranked 10th in the Region VI in three-point field goals made.
