Following up a 13 win weekend at the ITA Regional Tournament in Oklahoma City against some of the nationís best, the Seward County womenís tennis team wrapped up their fall action Friday by shutting out the Friends Falcons 9-0 and winning 96 of 112 games played on the day.

The 1-2 punch of Dariya Dashutina and Fanny Benincasa dominated at the top of the lineup for Seward, both winning 6-0, 6-1 in speedy victories over Elly Johnson and Sam Hutson. The Lady Saints winning ways continued in the middle of the Seward six as Kauana Goncalves took a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Kylie Combs and Salitza Abrantes dispatched of Stephanie Curtis 6-0, 6-0 to move Seward to 4-0 on the day. Marcila Abrantes dropped Sara McVay 6-2, 6-0 in #5 singles and Caitlin Workman finished up a 6-0 day in singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Kassie Welch for the Lady Saints.

Dashutina and Benincasa took their supremacy right over to doubles play where they kicked off the combo play with a swift 8-0 win over Johnson and Combs. In #2 doubles, Seward came away with an 8-5 win behind Goncalves and Salitza Abrantes and Marcila Abrantes and Workman again pulled up the rear for the Lady Saints in fashion with an 8-2 win over McVay and Welch to finish the perfect afternoon.

The Lady Saints finish the fall with an overall record of 56-39 and are expected to be ranked in the top 10 in the country when the national rankings are released later this fall.
