Susan Copas, art instructor at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School is the Kansas 2010-11 Outstanding Higher Education Art Educator of the Year.
She will be presented her ward at this yearís Kansas ft Education Associationís Fall Conference Awards luncheon in Manhattan.
Most recently, Copas has had two paintings accepted in the annual juried show at CityArts in Wichita. The paintings are on display this month at 334 N. Meade in Wichita. She will have an opportunity to win prize money as well.

The Kansas Art Education Association is a statewide professional organization dedicated to the growth and development of art educators and the advancement of high quality art education.
Copas obtained her bachelorís and masterís degrees in fine arts in Painting from the University of Kansas, where she was also later awarded a $1,000 undergraduate research grant. In the past, she has also taught childrenís art classes through Baker Arts Center and the Garden City Recreation Commission.
