Coming off of a Jayhawk West Championship, eight Seward County Saints have been named to the KJCCC All-Conference teams. Josh Dawson, Kelby Tomlinson, Quay Grant, and Luke Campbell were named first team All-Jayhawk while Cameron Maldonado and Jordan Dallalio were named second team and Todd Glime and Logan Hall were named Honorable Mention. Also for the 5th time in his career, Seward skipper Galen McSpadden was named the Jayhawk West Coach of the Year.
Josh Dawson was named the top 1st baseman in the conference after leading the Saints in hitting during the regular season and finishing the year hitting .370 with a team high 22 doubles and was second on the team with 58 RBIís and 87 hits on the year. Future Texas Tech Red Raider Kelby Tomlinson was named 1st Team All-Conference at shortstop for Seward after a season in which he hit .352 with a school record 90 runs scored at the top of the lineup and a team high 28 stolen bases in 32 attempts this season. Quay Grant earns 1st Team honors at the hot corner after punishing Jayhawk West Conference pitching this year, hitting at a .446 clip in conference play while driving in 31 runs in 32 games and rapping 8 doubles and 4 home runs. Luke Campbell finds his way onto the All-Conference list for the second straight season after leading the Saints in hitting this season. Campbell finished the season hitting .378 with a team high 27 extra base hits and 65 RBIís while finishing second on the team with 11 stolen bases and 87 hits on the season. His 2010 conference stats were eye popping this season as he finished with 6 home runs and 43 RBIís in just 32 games while hitting at a .433 clip.
The Saints horse on the mound, Cameron Maldonado was named 2nd Team All-Conference after a season in which he went 7-1 on the mound in conference play, posting a 3.11 ERA while tossing 47 1/3 innings, striking out 37 and walking just 8. Jordan Dallalio was also named to the 2nd team at the utility position after hitting .301 with 9 doubles and 22 RBIís this season as a freshman.
Todd Glime was tabbed an Honorable Mention pick as the Saints backstop this season after he led Seward in home runs with 11 and was 4th on the team with 44 RBIís. Also named Honorable Mention was Sewardís #2 starter Logan Hall who was an often overlooked part of the Saints success this season. As a freshman Hall went undefeated in conference play at 6-0 while posting a 3.89 ERA in a team high 50 1/3 innings pitched.
Seward had more players named 1st Team than any of the other eight teams in the Jayhawk West Conference and also tied with Butler for the most number of players overall to be selected to the list.
