With a 31-3 Jayhawk West Championship season behind them, Seward County Women’s Basketball Head Coach Toby Wynn and assistant Penny Jones knew that recruiting might be a little bit easier this offseason. But, after losing 78% of its scoring from a season ago, the Lady Saints needed to retool and that they did on National Signing Day as he has announced the signing of 8 Lady Saints players for next season including a mix of 4 in state players and 4 out of state players. Wynn’s 2010-2011 recruiting class includes:
- Mattie Yank – 5’ 10” - Guard – Gruver High School – Gruver, TX – “We are very excited about adding Mattie to our team for next year. She is someone that can really score and shoot the ball, but she also brings a great work ethic and personality to the team as well” Wynn said.

- Ashlynn Knoll – 6’0” - Wing – Happy High School – Happy, TX – “Ashlynn is a very athletic wing player who can score both inside and out” Wynn Said. “She is someone that competes very hard and has a great work ethic. We are really looking forward to having her join us here at Seward County” he continued.

- Kelsey Willson – 6’ 0” - Post – Ripley High School – Ripley, OK – “The hardest players to find these days in recruiting are post players and we feel like we have found a very good one in Kelsey. She has a tremendous work ethic, with lots of upside, and has been very well coached. Kelsey has the ability to step out shoot the 3 point shot as well as play with her back to the basket” Wynn said.

- Autumn Miller – 5’6” – Point Guard – Sacred Heart High School – Louisville, KY – “Autumn was the first girl that we had commit to us to come play here at Seward County. - Britny Butler – 5’7” – Point Guard/Combo Guard – Southwestern Heights High School – Plains, Kansas - “We are really excited about adding Britny to our team and getting a Southwestern Heights girl to join our program. Britny has had a very successful career there for Coach Mellen, and I know she will be bringing that same winning attitude to us” Wynn said. “She is a very tough kid and really competes and that is the first thing people will notice when they see her play.”

- Kayla Thomas – 5’10” – Guard – South Gray High School – Montezuma, Kansas – “Kayla is a very versatile player that can do a variety things on the court and play a variety of positions. She really knows how to play and has a great feel for the game. We are very excited having her become a part of the great tradition of Lady Saint Basketball” Wynn said.

- LaTonya Gooden – 5’10” – Forward – Liberal High School – Liberal, Kansas – “LaTonya Gooden is a going to be a great addition to our program here at Seward County. It is always nice to be able to have players from Liberal and the surrounding community and we are really looking forward to having her.
