The Seward County Community College menís basketball program has announced their 2006-2007 regular season basketball schedule. The Saints are coming off a 21-10 overall record in 2005-2006, where they return four letterman and two returning starters. The Saints 06-07 season is highlighted by 16 home games, including eight home games during the non-conference schedule (Nov. 2-Dec. 9, 2006). During the past decade, Seward County basketball has posted a remarkable 126-30 home record playing in front of the Liberal fans at the Green House.

Saints Head Coach, Dave Brown, enters his 11th year as Saints head coach (236-90 record) and first year Assistant Coach, Aaron Kallhoff, joins the menís basketball coaching staff after spending three successful seasons as an assistant coach in the Jayhawk East Conference at Allen County C.C.

Seward County opens their season hosting the Pepsi Classic, Nov. 2-4. The Saints will tip-off their season against Sterling College J.V. at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2. SCCC will also host North Lake C.C. (Nov. 3) and Odessa J.C. (Nov. 4) at the Pepsi Classic.

The Saints non-conference schedule has several premier match-ups, including their Jayhawk Shootout opener against the defending Region VI champions, Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens, on Dec. 1 at 7:00 p.m. in Coffeyville, Kan. The Saints will then host the Pizza Hut Classic at the Green House, where they will face NJCAA D-II powerhouse, Brown Mackie College on Dec. 8 at 8:00 p.m. The Saints final non-conference game will Dec. 9, against Frank Phillips College at 8:00 p.m.

The 2007 portion of the season will begin on Jan. 3 with the Saints opening their Jayhawk West Conference schedule on the road against defending Jayhawk West Division Co-Champions, Dodge City C.C. at 8:00 p.m. in Dodge City, Kan.

Seward Countyís home conference opener is on Jan. 6 against Hutchinson C.C. at 8:00 p.m. The Saints will host three consecutive home games in January against Butler C.C. (Jan. 17), Cloud County C.C. (Jan. 20) and Garden City C.C. (Jan. 24).

The Region VI Tournament will begin with the First Round Playoff on Mar. 7, at the home of the higher seed. Then the Region VI Tournament will conclude in Wichita at Charles Koch Arena on Mar. 11-13. The NJCAA National Tournament will be played Mar. 20-24 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kan.
