The Seward County Community College volleyball team broke a two match losing streak on Wednesday night at Cloud County Community College. The Lady Saints defeated the Lady Thunderbirds 30-25, 30-25, 26-30, 25-30 and 15-7, in their first Jayhawk West Conference victory of the season. The Lady Saints also picked up a win in their division race and move to 1-1 in Jayhawk West and division play this season. Seward County improves to 12-13 overall this season and Cloud County, who entered the evening tied for first place, falls to 10-10 overall and 3-1 in the Jayhawk West Conference. Seward County will travel to Midland, Texas, where they will compete in the Midland College Classic Sept. 29-30.

Seward County opens competition on Friday at 1:00 p.m. against Alvin J.C. (13-13) and will then play against New Mexico Military Institute at 5:00 p.m.
