Day-two of the Wyo-Braska Shootout has been completed for the Seward County Community College volleyball team, who defeated Eastern Wyoming College 30-17, 30-22 and 30-21, in a dominating performance in their second match on Friday. Seward County only needed three games to defeated E. Wyoming with strong performances from several SCCC Lady Saints players. Seward County is now 3-2 in the shootout, and improves to 11-11 overall this season. Eastern Wyoming falls to 1-12 on the season. Seward County will complete their shootout competition tomorrow when they travel back to Scottsbluff, Neb.

Three SCCC players posted double/double’s with Janete Ferreira (14 kills/12 digs), Alex Droogsma (44 assists/10 digs) and Jenny Schwier (13 digs/12 kills) all leading the way for Seward County. Seward County was led defensively by freshman libero, Katy Troutman, who chipped in a team-high 26 digs.

The Lady Saints will have their biggest challenge on Saturday, facing No. 13 Northeastern Colorado J.C. (13-3) at 11:00 a.m. SCCC wraps up competition in the shootout tomorrow against Central Wyoming College at 1:00 p.m.
