Two Seward County Lady Saints Volleyball players signed their NCAA Letters of Intent last week to compete at Division 1 Universities next season. Jelena Simic, arguably one of the best players in school history signed to play at Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, Florida this fall. Simic is the All-Time kills leader at Seward County and is the first player to ever record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career. She was the Region 6 Most Valuable Player this season and will look to follow in fellow Serbian and friend Ana Kokanovicís footsteps as the Atlantic Sun player of the year for the Eagles. Ami Wang will play for Hampton University next season after signing her national letter of intent to play for the Pirates Wednesday. Wang will join a Pirates team who fell in the quarterfinals of the MEAC tournament last season. Wang led the Lady Saints in hitting percentage in 2008 making just 6 errors in 80 attacks. With Simic and Wang moving on, the rest of the Lady Saints are closing in on just 3 months until the start of the 2009 volleyball season.
