Coming off of arguably their best offensive effort all season in a 97-51 win against Cloud County last Saturday, many including Head Coach Toby Wynn thought that the Seward County Lady Saints had really hit their offensive stride. Saturday nights 69-43 win against Dodge City made those same people question their earlier thoughts. Seward County managed just 36% shooting on the night and turned the ball over an uncharacteristic 16 times. In the win Amanda Pierson had another solid night for the Lady Saints scoring 19 points on 7 of 13 shooting as well as grabbing 3 rebounds and blocking 3 Lady Conq shots. Rachel Barnes dialed up another hardnosed performance scoring 14 points and ripping down 7 rebounds while also creating 5 steals. LaNell Taylor knocked down a pair of three point shots en route to her 11 point effort while Vaneza Junior narrowly missed her 4th straight double digit scoring effort with 9 points. The win assures the Lady Saints of a home playoff game for the Region VI Tournament which will be played Tuesday, March 3rd at the Green House. The Lady Saints are now 23-5 on the season and 11-3 in conference play. They will return home Wednesday night to play Garden City in the final regular season home game for five Lady Saint sophomores. Each will be recognized between games Wednesday night with a brief ceremony for all of their hard work and effort put in while here at Seward County. Free tickets for the game are available at Sharp McQueen, P.A., Express Lane #22, Pizza Hut, Community Bank, and Sunflower Bank.
