For the second consecutive week and the third time this season, two Seward County basketball players have been named Jayhawk Conference Players of the Week. On the women’s side Amanda Pierson was named Jayhawk West Conference Player of the Week a month removed from being named NJCAA National Player of the Week. The sophomore from Belleville, averaged 20 points a game including a career high 24 points against Cloud County Saturday night in the Lady Saints 46 point win. On the Men’s side Jon Tassin became the third straight Saint to be named Jayhawk West Player of the Week in a week in which he recorded his first career double double in Wednesday’s matchup with Pratt. The freshman from Pontiac, Michigan averaged 10.5 points and 9 rebounds per game in the Saints two contests last week. The Saints and Lady Saints will take the court Saturday night against Dodge City on homecoming night in the Green House. Free tickets are available at both Liberal Pizza Hut locations.
