Seward County Community College athletic director Galen McSpadden has announced 70 student-athletes have been named to the spring 2008 Athletic Directorís Academic Honor Roll, with 10 student-athletes earning a 4.0 GPA. Overall, a total of 133 student-athletes, cheerleaders, dancers, trainers and student managers averaged 15.23 credit hours passed with an average of 3.03 GPA for the spring semester. The athletic department also boasts 13 NJCAA Academic All-Americans, with six varsity sports represented with at least one student-athlete receiving the prestigious academic honor. Two Seward County student-athletes, David Masters (Baseball) and Alex Droogsma (Volleyball), were named Distinguished Academic All-Americans.

Every Academic All-American selection must have completed at least three semesters or four quarters of college work. Distinguished Academic All-American awards are given to student-athletes who have a 3.80-4.0 GPA while Academic All-Americans are required to have a GPA of 3.60-3.79.
