The Seward County Community College women’s tennis team swept six singles matches and three doubles matches on Tuesday afternoon over Hutchinson Community College at the HCC Tennis Courts. Sophomore Erica Herrera won her third straight singles match 6-1, 6-0, and freshman Juliana Boas also shined in her singles victory (6-1, 6-0) over Shannon Rohlman in No. 3 singles. The No. 17 ranked Lady Saints improve to 30-22 overall in total matches played this season.

The Lady Saints picked up an early win in singles with freshman Fabiola Wisnesky defeating Taylor Kenyon, 6-1, 6-1. SCCC sophomore Sanela Dejanovic improved her singles record to 3-3 this year with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Carrie Hukills in No. 2 singles.

Valerie Steven also notched her third victory of the season at No. 4 singles defeating Amanda Medina, 6-2, 6-1. Herrera continued her stellar sophomore season picking up her fourth consecutive straight-set victory at No. 5 singles.

Seward County picked up an 8-4 victory in No. 1 doubles as Wisnesky and Boas defeated Kenyon and Hukills. Stevens and Alyssa Larson then shutout Rohlman and Medina 8-0 in No. 2 doubles play.

This weekend, April 4-5, the Lady Saints will take on four opponents, three which are nationally-ranked, at the Seminole State Festival in Oklahoma City. The Lady Saints will face No. 4 Collin County Community College, No. 5 North Central Texas College, No. 12 Seminole State College and Eastfield Community College.
