The Seward County Community College menís tennis team dropped a dual to No. 9 nationally-ranked Barton County Community College, 1-8, on March 15, at the Seward County Tennis Courts on campus at SCCC. The highlight for the Saints was the No. 1 doubles victory by sophomores Victor Mesquita and Mirko Perkusich over Noe Losmozos and Arthur Latypov, 9-7. Seward County is now 21-17 overall in games played this season. The No. 8 nationally-ranked Saints will take on No. 6 Cowley College in their next dual on Saturday, March 29, at 1 p.m. in Arkansas City, Kan.

Perkusich, a sophomore from Campina Grade, Brazil, took Losmozos, the nationís No. 14 ranked singles player, to three sets in No. 1 singles. Losmozos was too much in the end defeating Perkusich 7-6, 2-6, 10-6.

Saintsí freshman Ivan Michelli also played a three set thriller with Barton County No. 6 singles player Petr Grigorev. Michelli won the first game 6-3, but was defeated in the second and third games, 6-1, 10-8.
