While it has become almost commonplace in the past 20 years for the Seward County Saints to be on top of the Jayhawk West standings at years end, when the 2013 version of the Saints found out that they had brought home the title once again this season, the celebration was no less intense. After splitting 5-4 and 6-0 games on day one of the series, the Saints actually went into the final day of the regular season one game behind rival Garden City. After taking care of their part and blanking Cloud County in 7-0 and 10-0 wins, Seward had their eyes glued on the action in Dodge City where they needed help from their friends on Boot Hill against the Busters. About an hour into their trip back from Concordia there were a few claps and cheers as Seward found out that Dodge won game three against Garden City to give the Saints at least a share of the conference title, but after the Conqs came back from down 5-0 in the bottom of the 9th inning to win game four of the series to give the Saints the outright title, the bus erupted in celebration. The Jayhawk West title is Sewardís 10th in the past 13 years and their 14th in the past 19 years.
