The Seward County Community College Board of Trustees met Tuesday to discuss the opening of the 2006 fall semester and progress on a possible merger between the college and the Southwest Kansas Technical School.

The 2006 fall semester is under way with a dormitory that is full to capacity. Dr. Randy Smith, dean of student services, told the board that the dormitories are full and students are now on a waiting list. Although enrollment numbers are not complete for this fall, Student Services will focus its energies this coming year on recruiting heavily in Liberal, Southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles for the fall 2007.
