Seward County Community College/Area Technical School’s Criminal Justice Club, Sigma Chi Chi, competed at the American Criminal Justice Association Region 3 Conference recently in Garden.
The Theme of the Conference was, “Make it R.E.A.L: Beyond the Classroom (Realism Enhances Academic Learning). Students and advisors participated in physical agility, firearms, and crime scene competition, as well as criminal justice workshops.
Edgar Gonzalez, Luis Vazquez, and Angel Hernandez, all of Liberal received first place in crime scene.
Dylan McLemore, Marcos Gonzalez, both from Liberal, and Luis Puerco, Turpin, Okla., took third in crime scene.
Angel Corral, Kismet, Shawna Polk, Liberal, and Dennis Mulanax, SCCC/ATS firearms instructor, took second in team firearms at the professional level.
Cristy Mulanax, SCCC/ATS Criminal Justice coordinator, received second place in physical agility in her age category.
