Seward County Community College/Area Technical School will provide extended hours to help students with enrollment for the fall 2012 semester.
Administrative offices will be open form 7:45 a.m.- 7 p.m., Aug. 13-16.
The Saints Bookstore will open from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 11; 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 12; 8 a.m.-12 and 1-6 p.m., Aug. 13-16; and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 18.
Evening classes begin Monday, Aug. 13 and day classes begin Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Regular offices hours are 7:45 a.m.-4:45 p.m., beginning Aug. 6.

Chelsea Miller of Ulysses works with Veda King, director of Nursing, as she enrolls in fall classes at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School in Liberal, Kansas. Miller plans to major in nursing. The next All Saints Day for new students will be July 26 and Aug. 7. Students can sign up online at allsaintsdays.com. Janice Northerns, English Instructor; Alli Lyons, assistant director of the Wellness Center; and Jerri Lynn Lyddon, director of the Saints Bookstore, at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School, received the excellence in teaching award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development in Austin, Texas recently. Presidents of member colleges submit names of individuals their colleges wish to recognize as NISOD excellence award recipients. Member colleges are committed to enriching the learning experiences for all students, enhancing the standards of excellence throughout the academic community and celebrating outstanding educators and their accomplishments. Want to fulfill your dreams of becoming a truck driver?
Seward County Community College/Area Technical School begins its next six-week Truck Driving Course, Aug. 13.
The course runs from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, plus three Saturdays for CDL, DDC and CPR training.
The cost is $620 tuition, $859 applied course fee and $100 fuel surcharge fee, plus books and incidentals.

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School is offering two new programs this fall: Sustainable Agriculture Resources and Process Technology.
Through Sustainable Ag Resources, a student can become a conservationist or agricultural scientist. He or she will learn how to enhance the quality of the environment and its natural resources, make efficient use of non-renewable resources and help sustain the future of agriculture. Students will work in both indoor and outdoor labs.
The college will offer a two-year associate in applied science degree with specialization in soil science or plant/crop science or an associate in science degree with a Sustainable Agriculture Resources emphasis.
Process Technology involves every aspect of chemical processing: extracting and refining resources such as oil and natural gas, refining chemicals and carefully monitoring the process that makes it happen.

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School invites you to try a variety of classes to keep you physically fit this fall.
