Seward County Community College/Area Technical School will host a reception for Elva Morales in recognition of her selection as one of four recipients of the American Association of Community Colleges 2011 Outstanding Alumni award. The reception will be from 4-5 p.m., Thursday, in room SW228D of the SCCC/ATS Student Activities Center.

Students who will be new to Seward County Community College/Area Technical School in Liberal this fall will need to sign up for an All Saints Day to enroll in 2011 fall classes.
Students can attend an All Saints Day at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 7; Thursday, June 30; Tuesday, July 12; Thursday, July 21; Tuesday; July 26, Tuesday, Aug. 2; or Thursday, Aug. 11, at 1801 N. Kansas in Liberal. Compass testing will be at 9 a.m. for those students who do not have ACT scores.

Telolith, the 64-page booklet featuring the art, photography, creative writing, and graphic design of more than 30 Seward County Community College/Area Technical School Students is now available on campus. The publication is free. The public is invited to a retirement reception at Seward County Community College and Area Technical School from 2-4 p.m., Thursday, May 19 in SW214 E/W of the Student Activities Center.

Justin Morales, assistant director of the Colvin Adult Learning Center, presents a diploma to John Morales who completed the General Education Testing program to receive his Kansas State High School Equivalency diploma. He and other GED graduates were recognized in a ceremony Saturday at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School.

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School has tuition grants available to residents of Seward County this summer.
If you are a Seward County resident and are taking 2-6 hours this summer, you can apply for a summer tuition grant that will lower the cost of your tuition. Some additional course fees apply.
Come by SCCC/ATS, 1801 N. Kansas in Liberal to apply.
Classes begin Wednesday, June 1.
Tuition grants are also available for the fall 2011 semester for Seward County residents.

Today, 135 students from 30 states were honored as Newman Civic Fellows by Campus Compact. Among the honorees is Kelsey Cook of Seward County Community College/Area Technical School. The Newman Civic Fellows Awards recognize inspiring college student leaders who have demonstrated an investment in finding solutions for challenges facing communities throughout the country.
