Seven students successfully completed the seven-week Truck Driving Course at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School recently.
Students included Jessica Padley, Johnson; Sim Khamphouvong, Liberal, Sotero Salazar, Dodge City; Sandra Kessler, Holcomb; Angela Hatfield, Atwood; Jaco Hugo, Garden City; and Blain Derek, Texhoma, Okla.
The next Truck Driving Course will run Aug. 25-Oct. 10. This seven-week course will meet from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. In addition, students will complete one Saturday for a CDL Seminar, one Saturday for a DDC Seminar and one Saturday for a CPR/First Aid.
The cost is $480 tuition, $859 applied course fee, $100 fuel charge, plus books and incidentals.

Seven students recently completed their coursework to graduate from the Seward County Community College Cosmetology program.
The students include Elizabeth Evans, Satanta; Cristal Sanchez, Kismet; Cinnamon Rodkey, Forgan, Okla.; Marisela Orozco, Liberal; Virginia Dunn and Tiffany Constancio, both of Perryton, Texas; and Amy Landrum, Ellsworth.

Mark your calendars for the 2008 Seward County Community College Development Foundation Party Auction, at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Seward County Event Center, Fairgrounds.
This year’s theme is Ride the Wave of Success. This annual event raises money for scholarships. The cost is $20 and includes food and beverages, entertainment and the silent and live auctions.

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School is offering two new courses for the fall 2008 semester: Introduction to Broadcasting and Zumba.
Introduction to Broadcasting will be offered from 9:30-10:50 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at the KSCB Studios, 1410 N. Western, Liberal.
Zumba® Fitness will be offered from 11-11:50 a.m., Mondays and Wednesdays and 7-7:50 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays in the basement of the Student Activities Center. Individuals can dance their way to fitness with Latin moves and rhythms. Other ways to keep fit and stay healthy include Personal Wellness, Active Living Everyday, Healthy Eating, Outdoor Challenge Course Rock Climbing, Yoga, Weight Training, Tai Chi, Aquarobics and Yogalates.
