The Seward County Community College spring concert featuring the Wind Ensemble, Singing Saints Concert Choir, and Sound Express Show Choir will be at 7:30 p.m., April 28-29 in the SCCC theater.

Seward County Community College1s Colvin Adult Learning Center will recognize its Kansas State High School Diploma graduates with a special ceremony at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 7, in the Showcase Theater on the main campus, 1801 N. Kansas in Liberal.

Keynote speaker will be Jeff Hiers, minister of the Wilroads Gardens Christian Church for 28 years in Dodge City and in the insurance business for 20 years. He is past president of the United Way of Dodge City; past chair of the board of the Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce; past chair of the board of New Chance, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic; and past chair of Dodge City Days, the second largest celebration in Kansas. His speaking has taken him from coast to coast at national, state and local events.

In addition, Alexandria Shepherd, one of the current Kansas State High School Diploma graduates will address the graduates.

The center will host a reception immediately following the graduation.

Mellissa Brenneman, Tammy Lenear, and Karen Kuharic were among those who recently attending the Liberal Chamber of Commerce breakfast sponsored by the Seward County Community College Development Foundation. Brenneman is a foundation board member. Lenear and Kuharic are Chamber Ambassadors.
